Our children were gifted to us as a sacred trust to rear and raise. We must preserve their primordial purity and innocence (fitrah) through cultivating in them a meaningful experiential relationship of love with Allah and His Messenger ﷺ that will be expressed in their beautiful ethical character and etiquette (akhlaq and adab). Any less will just not do.
How do we fulfil this weighty charge? Ustadha Kamrun feels that foundational concepts in belief, character and practice must be taught to young hearts through a Prophetic pedagogy: spiritual inspiration, creative stimulation and mature expectation. Children need to grow up by growing within.
Trust us. She knows what she is talking about. Ustadha was a top-student at a renowned Islamic seminary where she studied full-time for four years, has a degree in early childhood education, and has a long and rich experience teaching young hearts. She has a natural skill of anchoring building-block concepts in Islamic education in ways that linger in the spiritual imaginations of her students and reflect in their words and deeds.
For the last three years, she has taught the young children of Muslim families from around the world. There is not one single family who will not attest that Ustadha has turned the tables. Our children frequently inspire us with their knowledge, character and etiquette. They have, quite simply, become our teachers. And with Allah is all success.
